Next year, the first new “pop-up” small Jesus Centres will launch in  Kettering. While the size of the building will be smaller than the centres in for example Coventry and Northampton, we won’t be small on the opportunities and services we offer:

  • Tea room/coffee bar with cakes and panini.
  • Drop-in offering showers, laundry,  recreation facilities, support and Christian love.
  • Craft and chat.  Enjoy new skills whilst meeting new friends.
  • Crochet group. An already established group well supported and friendly.
  • Mums and Tots. Sharing and support for Mums. Lot’s of safe play space for Tots.
  • Talk English. Love and support to those whose first language is not English.
  • Free Computer use.
  • Computer skills training.
  • Legal and Benefits signposting. Help when life seems to get on top of you.
  • Info Desk linking you to other services in the town.
  • Mid-week Church.

Our hope and prayer is that the Jesus Centre will be a place where Jesus it at the centre, using us to bring hope and healing to a broken world. Jesus said: ”I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me… Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Mt 25:35-36, 40).

25 Dalkeith Place is what we hope to be our home. It is on the edge of the Town Centre in an area dominated by Cafes, Bars and Restaurants. We have spent time in the past meeting people in this area. Plans are being drawn up for the conversion of the premises and a planning application will be made soon.

We shall be reliant on volunteers to run the Centre and the team have already started training.

Meanwhile we meet at Corn Market Hall, London Road, Kettering. Sunday 11.00 and 6.00.
